lyrics

My Window World*

Sitting by the window I watch the world go by.
I can see each way along the road and a huge expanse of sky.
The children in the roadway play at skipping, hopscotch, ball.
Each one a bundle of energy. They hardly stop at all.

There`s a business man with a briefcase. A working man with cap.
A mother on a roadside seat with a baby on her lap.
A young girl tripping lightly. A youth not far behind.
It`s plain he wants to meet her. If he`s keen a way he`ll find.

It means a lot, as they go by, to know they think of me.
As I`ve no kin to call my own, I call them my family.

The world goes by my window. A different scene each day.
I can`t go out, or get about. In my chair I have to stay.
But then, I`m never lonely. The neighbours here are grand.
When they pass by my window, they turn, with a smile and a wave of hand.

It means a lot, as they go by, to know they think of me.
As I`ve no kin to call my own, I call them my family.

It means a lot, as they go by, to know they think of me.
As I`ve no kin to call my own, I call them my family.
